2 Kings 17:7 (NLT)
7 This disaster came upon the people of Israel because they worshiped other gods. They sinned against the Lord their God, who had brought them safely out of Egypt and had rescued them from the power of Pharaoh, the king of Egypt.
Oops! The people of Israel finally got what was coming to them. All that worshiping after other gods, and sinning against God, the only God, who brought them out of Egypt has come to the point that God is not going to rescue them at this moment! However, the Good News tells us that there is a day when God’s people will come from the east and the west, the north and the south to sit at table with the Lord! That doesn’t just refer to the Gentiles, but to the nation of Israel which was intermingled among all the nations. God’s deliverance will come at this timing, and so as bad as this moment might have been for the Northern Kingdom and all who will be taken away. The promise remains, and the day will come when the lost will be found. That includes them, and that includes us. Peace and Blessings!
