Hosea 11:1 (NLT)
1 “When Israel was a child, I loved him, and I called my son out of Egypt.
The prophet Hosea is like all the prophets: they want us repent, because God wants us to repent, so they tell us how much God loves us, only to also recognize that we will dig the hole deeper before we will allow God in Christ to pull us out. Having said that, God through the prophets speak of their lo e for us. In this particular verse, God is telling the people of the Northern Kingdom, that when they were young, back in the days of Pharaoh, He called them out f Egypt and slavery, and into a new land. Ultimately, they became a nation, hardened by 40 years in the wilderness, and warfare to conquer Canaan. In the same way, God continues to love us. God WILL NOT let us go. We may sin and fall away, but God will continue to hold on to us no matter what we do. We are his beloved children, his sons and daughters, that he called out of sin and into His righteousness. That is our blessing!
