Psalm 83:4 (NLT)
4 “Come,” they say, “let us wipe out Israel as a nation. We will destroy the very memory of its existence.”
Isn’t it surprising how much in life has changed over the years. Anyone over older than 24 has seen the advent of hand held computers that call, text, take pictures, etc., which would have all been beyond the imagination of almost any of us back then, but are so commonplace today that those younger than 24 have never known a moment without hand held computers in their lives. So, how much more interesting is it that this verse was first written thousands of years ago, when David and Solomon were kings, but is still relevant today, and perhaps more so. Anti-Jewish and anti-Israeli riots have sprung up on campuses that are supposedly elite in their academic prowess, but apparently weak in standing up to professional agitators or even their own home grown anti-Semities. Hamas and Iran are dedicated and determined in their annihilation of Israel. Even the present presidential administration seems to be divided in standing up for Israel. However, the good news is that God has everything under control and God will safeguard the nation of Israel today, just as he did back during the time of David and Solomon, according to His will and purpose.
