WHO NEEDS CHRISTMAS? Week 2
Have you ever felt like something had total and complete control over your life? Believe it or not, that’s what sin can do. It can have incredible power over you, and before the birth of Jesus, it seemed nearly impossible to escape. But Christmas changed that. This week, we’ll see that we all need Christmas to be set free.
Goal of Small Groups:
To help students understand that because He sent Jesus to the world, He can not only forgive us of our sins, He can set us free from our sins.
Matthew 1:20-21 - But as he considered these things, behold, an angel of the Lord appeared to him in a dream, saying, "Joseph, son of David, do not fear to take Mary as your wife, for that which is conceived in her is from the Holy Spirit. She will bear a son, and you shall call his name Jesus, for he will save his people from their sins."
John 8:11 - She said, "No one, Lord." And Jesus said, "Neither do I condemn you; go, and from now on sin no more."
John 10:10 - The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy. I came that they may have life and have it abundantly.
Romans 6:12 - Let not sin therefore reign in your mortal body, to make you obey its passions.
